Since the last in a dynasty of glaciers retreated
10,000 years ago,
the Athabasca River has battled a trembling Earth.

Abandoned channels, potholes and deep crevaces in the hardest
rock in the Rocky Mountains mark the ancient battle lines.
Today the battle rages on at the 25 meter falls near this
spot. This trail is an easy 20 minute stroll along
the rim. It is a safe and easy walk but straying from
the path has cost several people thier lives. Please
stay behind the guard rails.
