Bow Falls
Fed upstream by Bow Glacier which in turn feeds the Bow River

Beneath the famous Fairmont Banff Springs hotel is gushing Bow Falls.  Follow Bow Falls drive from Banff.  Downstream the Bow River merges with the Spray River on its journey to the Atlantic Ocean.  Hikers information is below.

Interesting to note is that the falls and river are bisecting two very different rock formations, one of which is 70 million years older than the other.

Hike to the Bow Falls
The Bow Falls trail is one of the easier hikes allowing you time to stop and enjoy every minute.  From the Banff Bridge walk south. Follow the river which naturally brings you to the Bow Falls.  The Banff center can be seen on Tunnel Mountain ahead and to your right is Rundle Mountain.  View the falls tumbling below.  Carry on to the parking lot and picnic area below where you can view the falls tumbling over the rocks from a new angle.  Those wishing, can cross the parking lot to stairs that lead up to famous Banff Springs Hotel.
