Fort Edmonton Historic Park
Largest in Canada Featuring 4 Periods of History

Canada's largest living history museum. Sitting beside the banks of the mighty Saskatchewan River and overlooking the steep banks to the north sits one of Canada's premiere exhibits. Ride a steam train, interact with costumed actors portraying settlers, fur traders, merchants, ride a horse or buckwagon or try out one of the antique automobiles. Step into some of the 70 period buildings from Edmonton's past. Don't miss the fur trading fort and the York Boats which used to deliver furs along the Saskatchewan river network all the way to Hudson's Bay.

Edmonton's history is recreated in four time periods, 1846 fur trading, 1885 wild west, 1905 settlement and roaring 20's.

The park is open May through early October and admission is very reasonable.

The park even has its own hotel where you can stay in historic grand style
