Six golf courses in Alberta are rated in the top ten in Canada!
Courses in Banff and Jasper are legendary and many a golfer leaves
Alberta with fond memories of fairways and greens of velvet and
jade. How about golfing on courses where there is 18 hours of light
per day.
Prices are very reasonable in Alberta, even at the Rocky Mountain
courses, and are especially attractive to Americans whose dollar
is much stronger than the Canadian dollar.
Edmonton, Alberta has 37 golf course
and is surrounded by almost 60 more?
|
Golf is extremely popular in Alberta. There are over 275 courses
in the province including some World-Class fairways.

What is the number one rated golf course in the
Canada? Jasper Park Lodge Golf Course has been
rated the number one course for six consecutive years by Score
Golf magazine.
|
Some
courses are especially scenic. The Drumheller Golf
and Country Club winds its way through the famous Alberta
Badlands. At Stewart Creek you can often see Elk
(Wapiti) on the fairways. In Edmonton you can golf in the beautiful
North Saskatchewan River Valley at the Mayfair,
Jagare Ridge or Highlands courses.
The Jasper Park Lodge Course is rated the highest
in the Canada and wildlife is often seen on the course! Many say
the 14th tee box at sparkling Lac Beauvert rivals Pebble Beach for
raw beauty.
|
The Kananaskis Country southwest
of Calgary features two Robert Trent Jones courses side by side.
Named Mount Lorette and Mount Kidd courses after
the spectacular peaks that backdrop them these course challenge
your depth perception and experience to the max.
The Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Course has 27
holes playing through some of the most spectacular scenery anywere.
Visit Waterton Lakes course which is a fun course,
not too tough and braggin of mountain vistas, trees and lots of
wild animals.
|
Wolf Creek, an hour
south of Edmonton features 27 holes, designed by Rod Whitman and
spread across stunning and surprising scenery.
North Bear Golf Club, just southeast of Edmonton,
was designed by jack Nicklaus jsut opened and Blackhawk Golf Club
is tucked along the banks of the mighty North Saskatchewan River
just south of Edmonton. Another upscale course to visit near the
Capital city is Red Tail Landing Golf Club
|
The SilverTip Golf Course near Canmore is considered
one of North America's most challenging. This is where golf is
really on the mountain, more specifically Lady MacDonald Mountain.
This relatively new, carts-only, course exploits the site's dramatic
elevation changes (600ft) to create epic tee shots and views.
If you have more days in Canmore, step into your golf shoes at
Stewart Creek, loaded with par 4 fairways and
a truly modern design.
