THE ICEFIELDS PARKWAY
The main highway between Jasper and Banff is called
the Icefields Parkway because of the many glaciers, hugging the
mountains, that can be seen as you drive south. It is a stunning
drive with many lakes that are incredible colors of blue and green,
seen nowhere else. Drive by a triple continental divide and learn
about "Rock Flour". This is possibly the most unforgettable
mountain trip you will ever make. Come see it for yourself!!
How do you get to the Icefields Parkway?
Well, from the north you start on the Yellowhead Highway (highway
16) at a point just west of Jasper. Look for a turnoff at Highway
93 and drive south!
From the Trans-Canada (Highway 1) look for the divide just west
of Lake Louise, which is just west of Banff. Look for the turnoff
for Highway 93 and away you go!
