Miles
Above the Ordinary! |
Jasper from Whistlers Summit at 8,100 feet!

To the right are
the "Five Lakes"
and you can barely make out the Jasper Park Lodge near the
lakes. The highway at the top of the photo leads East to
Edmonton and beyond and the highway to the right is the
Icefields Parkway which travels south to Athabasca Glacier,
Lake Louise and Banff. The highway to the bottom of the
picture travels West into British Columbia and on to Vancouver.
(Beauvert, Mildred, Trefoil,
Edith and Annette)
To the left are Pyramid Lake
and, in front of it, Patricia Lake.
THE
AMAZING HIKE AT THE SUMMIT |
How do you get to the tram? Drive west and then south
from Jasper 3.5 miles on the Icefields Parkway (Highway 93).
The Whistlers Mountain Road turnoff is on the right as you are
traveling south. 2.5 miles up the road brings you to the lower
loading platform. This is a nice place for a picnic or quick
lunch while you are waiting for the next tram. The tram is open
mid-March to October.
