Canis Lupus Young
BACK TO WOLF INFORMATION
BACK TO WILDLIFE

Generally a wolf's litter is 5 to 8 pups. They are as cute as domestic puppies and similarly are weaned at 6 to 8 weaks when their teeth make feeding very painful for the mom! They eat food that the mother has regurgitated and will join the pack to learn the essentials of life soon thereafter. Their play antics are actually crucial training in the skills needed to survive in the harsh wilderness.

MORE PICTURES

20 million years ago one species of wolf was larger than today's bear. They had huge jaws which crushed bones and skulls. Relatives of the wolf in foreign lands include hyena, dingo, Saharan fenec, arctic fox and African wild dog.

Wolves are among nature's smartes animals!
