Whitewater Jasper
Family float trips with a gentle easy roll to Class III/IV rapids for more serious water lovers are available here. The Athabasca River has slow moving calm waters for the easy going and further downstream class II whitewater for those who are a little more adventurous. The Sunwapta is where you find the rapids and runs that more serious whitewater enthusiasts (and those who are little on the crazy side) prefer. Don't miss the Whopper, and this aint no hamburger but you may feel like one when you are done. We strongly recommend allowing the professionals to take you out on any whitewater run. White Water Banff
White water rafting in the Banff area does not compare with white water in the Jasper area. The rivers in Southern Alberta are much smaller than those in central and northern Alberta and thus not suitable for active watersports (or drinking!). In southern Alberta stick to canoeing and kayaking on the beautiful lakes.
